Discovered another bug: When Use OpenCL is checked, no animation frames are created. I waited for over 20 mins but nothing was created. No image was saved.

See the attached screen capture of the status, all three values are NaN.

This bug was also observed while generating still image (not animation).

I first reported this bug back in October 2020 as did others. It is still there in the latest beta. See the original post for some further information viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4929.

Wow! That is unbelievable. I'm finding more and more bugs, some are UI related and caused all sorts of issues with windows and panels. Had to reinstall a couple of times to be able to use the World editor. Should have tested it more before I bought the Studio license!

What's happening here is that there is nothing onscreen, therefore it will take "infinitely long" to render.

So basically, when rendering animations (or stills for that matter), make sure there is actually something onscreen.

Sorry to dispute your theory, but I have an image onscreen when I start the animation - still get "nan" error.

There was image on the screen (as owensch also mentioned), it just never rendered anything and showed NaN for all 3 values. Perhaps some divide by zero or nil cases?

Anyway, I'll email you for further investigation.

Thanks,
Dave
