When trying to run Chao2 on a Ryzen 5900X I get crashes on startup. winter_build_log reads:
Code:
LLVM encountered a fatal error: Cannot select: intrinsic %llvm.x86.sse41.dppd

You can find the dumps here

According to Phoronix:

Quote:
Also, auto-detection for Zen 3 isn't yet wired up.

If you are selecting -march=native equivalent when calling LLVM libraries to compile winter a workaround would be (somehow) detecting Zen3 and manually passing in znver2.

Hi, Yeah that should be fixed now, what version of Chaotica are you running?

I am also getting this same error using a new system build with a Ryzen 5950x, a RTX 3090 GPU with both the studio drivers and the gaming drivers, and using a clean install of Windows 10. This was one of the first programs that I installed after the drivers. I have tried 2.0.35 and many older versions. Chaotica 1.5 does work.

I have already submitted the error log.

I am looking forward to running Chaotica 2 on this machine.

Windows 2.0.35, both the msi installer and the portable package don't work. I've tried re-downloading just now to confirm.

Downloaded the new build, now it works nicely. Out of curiosity, what was the issue?

LLVM doesn't know the type of CPU and falls back to thinking it's something that doesn't support a certain instruction (DPPS).
