Hey all,

I would love to see a tutorial on coloring and color control in chaotica.

A lot of times I'm left randomly clicking and tweaking, trying to get a certain part of a flame a certain color or spread color out more rapidly or slowly.

Thanks!

Hmmm will work on one: meanwhile...

Those are Apo, but Chaotica uses same principles, so can be easily adapted:
transform color = the first shader variable
color speed = the second shader variable (color speed =1 in apo is 0 in chaotica, and color speed =-1 in apo is same as 1 in chaotica)

Those are excellent, thank you.

I am so thankful for your tutorials.

One tailored to Chaotica would be great :)

So, if I had a 2 color node yellow at left purple at right in the palette editor and wanted a very linear transition on one iterator from yellow to purple, what values would I use?

I'm trying to do tests to figure it out but am either getting one or the other purple or yellow, with no variance in between.

I have iterator one set to opacity 0

Think I have figured some of this out...

So Chaotica's Palette is from 0 to 1, 0 is at left, 1 is at right.

Blend speed determines the "quickness" of the curve between iterators as far as rate of color change? Example: Two iterators at .5 would have an equal spread correct?

I guess even if an opacity is set to 0, that iterator still has an impact on overall coloring of the fractal?

Blend speed is the amount of impact of the color on the color of the picture.
So, lets say, if blend speed is 1, the iterator will be solid color
Now, if the blend speed is 0, the color you set will have no impact at all.

There is no obvious linear thing, since it is a recursive relation. The resulting coloring is a complex relation of the colors of each iterators. Lets say you have two: so color of the iterator 1 will affect the color of iterator 2, which will affect the color of the iterator 1 and so on
