Hi everyone,
I recently went through my old backups and stumbled over my work I've done with Apophysis over a decade ago (:O).
Now I had a look around on the current state of flame editors and to my absolute glee I found Chaotica that can run natively on Linux (I'm on Ubuntu 22.04).
And wow, it worked!
And there is a live community still doing flames

even better!
So, after clicking myself through the tool a bit and having a look at manual/tutorials I've wanted to import my existing flames. Which worked... almost. I can import the files, I see the world, I can see the iterators and transforms. But all the fractals are just black screens.
Opening the palette editor confirms that, there's nothing there. I remember, that in Apophysis there was a concept called "Gradient" which basically determined the colors available to the flame rendering. Did I lose that during the import?
And that's why I'm here. Please bear with me, it's been a long time since I last used such an editor but it would be really great to have all my old stuff running on a new machine, maybe getting some high resolution renderings even.
So, if someone has an idea what I could do or can point me to a manual/tutorial that describes it, I'd be very thankful.
