Hello Community!

I discovered Chaotica less than 3 weeks ago,
tested it, weighed it, measured it and found
it absolutely Great! So I bought the License.

After clicking Help>Licensing, a window
appeared with an error message. It said :

GetAdaptersInfo Failed (after 20 attempts):
Die Pipe wird gerade geschlossen*.
(error code=232)

(*) This means : The pipe is being closed.

oOo

The version of Chaotica I have installed is :
Chaotica v1.5.8, Windows 64-bit build.
Unlicensed: resolution limited (...).

The hardware I am using is :
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4370 CPU @ 3.8GHz.

The system I am using is :
Windows 7 Home Premium
with Service Pack 1.

The computer is not online,
can this be the issue ?

oOo

Did someone get such a message
or knows what it means ?
I don't get it ...

Thanks for your ideas or help!

Romanesco

Hi, thanks for your support and the kind words :)

We haven't encountered this problem before, and it's possibly due to there not being a network adaptor present. Chaotica doesn't use the network adaptor for anything other than registration check (no network rendering or internet stuff), please make sure you have it enabled when using Chaotica.

Sorry for the inconvenience (and that it's not written in the system requirements).

Wow! It worked :) ...

Here's the solution of the problem I had :

I had to look in (my system's in german)
Systemsteuerung > System und Sicherheit.
Then I had to open my Gerätemanager.
Under PC_Name > Andere Geräte,
I found "Unbekanntes Gerät",
an unknown device.

This unknown device was simply
my networkadapter. In my case
it was also called RTL8191SU.

I downloaded the actual driver
on the internet, installed it and ...
Boom! I could generate my key!

Problem solved, thanks
for your help, lycium!
