Post subject:  DE SPEED
OK,
I need help. I have AMD FX 8350 8 core processor with 16 megs of ram, 6 terabytes of hard drive, 64 bit Windows 8.1, AMD Radeop 7900 series graphics card with 4 gb. Why am I only getting de speeds of 200?
Any help would be appreciated

1. Chaotica currently only uses CPU for rendering. Your RAM will only affect the possible resolutions.

2. DE speed depends a LOT of your parameters. For example, on my laptop, i get a range of DE speeds from 130s to 0 =D depending on what i make.

Supposing you are rendering one of the randomly generated fractals, the DE speeds sounds reasonable.

As tatasz mentioned, the DE speed can vary a lot depending on the fractal parameters.

Besides this, AMD CPUs are a good bit slower than Intel CPUs. For the first fractal in the examples (the greyscale one) I get a DE speed of 215 on an overclocked i7 4770k, while running as admin (good for a few extra %).
