Hi All,
In this release we have added some cool new stuff -
A realtime preview of the transform, which updates when parameters are changed,
and a transform browser, so you can visually choose a transform.

Since there are now over 240 transforms in Chaotica, odds are you don't know what they all do (I certainly didn't),
and reading the mathematical source code probably doesn't help either :)

This should help a lot for getting a feel for what they all do.

Note that we are currently in the process of improving some of the preview thumbnails to be more representative.

Windows installer:

Windows portable:

Mac OSX:
http://www.chaoticafractals.com/dist/Chaotica_2.0.9.pkg

Linux:
http://www.chaoticafractals.com/dist/ch ... 0.9.tar.gz

Changelog:
2.0.9
* Added preview thumbnail browser for transforms.
* Added realtime preview for transform parameter editing.
* Fixed some error handling for failure to load flam3 files.
* Improved path suggestion for image saving.
* Added point_symmetry transform.

Hey Nick,

Just wanted to say that I really enjoy using Chaotica and I'm excited to see what new features you'll bring to it in the future! I think having the ability to tweak more settings for the randomized world generator would be interesting (i.e, something like a scale between 1 - 10 on the strength of the randomization would be nice to have). Here are some of my latest rendering using the 2.x version: https://imgur.com/a/Iy9WO0X

Have been using the new version, is there somewhere I can post feature requests or and bug reports. I love this application and would LOVE to contribute.

There is still issue with "selectors" button, Chaotica now mixes all the weights in xaos, also the ones you have put value 0. If you have loops it disarrays them. There were no this issue in first five betas (at least I didn't notice that).

Really like that transform preview! Thank you!

Just wanted to give feedback from the Linux side of things. 2.0.9 is working like a charm without any noteable problems so far. I am happy that the random world generator now spews out a lot more varied things.

Just stumbled over 2.0.9 yesterday. The increased speed in CPU rendering is actually very noticeable.

Thanks for your hard work!

With 2.0.9 on Windows 64 I have not seen any crashes or winter errors so it is pretty stable for me.

Do like the new random world generator and the visual transform guide. Look forward to your future work on these preview thumbnails.

One thing I'd like to see is a 'bitmap' or 'image' transform which would allow you to import an image into Chaotica and then run transforms with that as a base image.

I really wish that Chaotica 2.0 could have the HISTOGRAM for the export and the RAW/DNG file export option.

What happened to pre_gaussian? Couldn't test any of my worlds that use it.

At first I had some trouble previewing: the sampling level was stuck at -inf. That was just after

1) Trying to load a world with a pre_gaussian;
2) Loading another world that should be renderable (without pre_gaussian);
3) Enabling OpenCL computation.

Not sure what triggered the glitch, but eventually after fiddling with render settings it started working again, with OpenCL enabled. Haven't been able to reproduce since.

Also see attachment for another temporary glitch while displaying GPU info. It also fixed itself after a while.

Very excited about the renewed development!!! :D I literally started writing my own renderer out of frustration with a couple of serious bugs in 1.5.8 and lack of GPU support. :roll:

Any chance I can get a temporary license or something to test hires rendering? Proud owner of full 1.x license here...

Windows 10 64-bit

2.0.9 will crash when you do the following:

- Start app
- Do not select any of the offered random examples in the parameter browser
- Press the 'Reset' button on the 'Response curves' panel
