Hi all, This is the first open Beta version of Chaotica 2. Chaotica 2 features GPU rendering, and a substantially improved CPU rendering core as well. There has also been a ton of smaller bug fixes and improvements. Support for all transforms is not yet complete. Please let us know if you find one missing, or not working properly. We will also be optimising the GPU rendering in the future. Any feedback and bug reports welcome! As first big bug, the world editor seems quite broken. (See attached file) When I open it, it does not display the tree view and the top bar by default. While i can enable the top bar by rightclicking and checking it, the "World nodes" cannot be enabled. If i open the world editor, then close it, then open again, it does not show the grid view even. OS: Windows 8

Does not even start. MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 iMac (21,5", end of 2013) Prozessor 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3 |

For me, it did crash on start--the crash report details mention Sandbox registration failed: The code signature is not valid: The operation couldn’t be completed. So I guess the code signing is maybe expired? Or straight broken, it's kind of hard to tell at a glance. There are a couple of different ways to mess with code signing. You can either re-codesign yourself, or use something like https://github.com/steakknife/unsign to strip the code signature completely. I used that tool (although if you compile it you need to remove the "-arch i386" option in Makefile). Next, I got an error from Chaotica itself on startup that data/winter_stdlib.txt couldn't be found. It just...isn't there anywhere? I downloaded the portable Windows release and copied the data folder to Contents/MacOS/data (macOS apps are just folders, can right-click and do "Show Package Contents" on them in Finder). After that, it did start up. I had to toggle OpenCL support a few times, but it did end up taking. Doesn't start for me either - right to the Crash screen. High Sierra 10.13.6. On Windows 10, installed fine, then crashed with the first World I attempted to open but then the next opened fine, though I have a limit on size because the license is not in effect. Good news that there is development in any event (had completely given up hope..) |
